More Details

The Sago Palm, or Cycas Revoluta, is a slow-growing plant that can add an exotic and tropical touch to any garden or interior space. It has a striking appearance with its feathery and glossy green leaves arranged in a rosette, and it can grow up to six feet tall.

Growth rate: Reaches a mature height and width of 3-10 ft

Please note: Images on our website depict plants and trees at full maturity to showcase their expected grown characteristics. These images are illustrative examples only and do not represent the size of plants or trees upon delivery.

Pruning: Prune only brown and dead leaves to keep the plant healthy, and only as needed throughout the year.

Fertilization: Fertilize during the growing season, from spring to fall, using a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at half the recommended strength.

Winter Protection: Protect the plant from frost and freezing temperatures by covering it with frost cloth or moving it indoors if temperatures drop below 15°F (-9°C).

When planting a Sago Palm, it's important to choose a location with well-draining soil and adequate sunlight. For planting in a pot, choose a container that is at least 2-3 inches wider than the root ball of the plant. Fill the pot with well-draining soil and plant the Sago Palm at the same depth it was previously growing. For planting in the ground, dig a hole that is as deep as the root ball and twice as wide. Place the Sago Palm in the hole, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly. When planting outdoors, ensure that the location is protected from frost and strong winds.

The Sago Palm prefers bright, indirect sunlight, and it should be watered thoroughly but allowed to dry out a bit between waterings. During the growing season, water once every 1-2 weeks, and in the winter months, water even less frequently.
