Purple Rain Texas Sage is an easy-to-care-for plant that grows well both in pots and in the ground. When planting, it is essential to choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and as deep as the root ball and backfill with a mix of native soil and compost. Water thoroughly and mulch around the base of the plant to help retain moisture. In a pot, choose a container with good drainage holes and fill it with a high-quality potting mix. Make sure the pot is large enough to accommodate the plant's root system, and water regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

Purple Rain Texas Sage is a drought-tolerant plant that prefers full sun exposure. It requires well-draining soil and should be watered deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. In general, it is recommended to water once a week during the first growing season, and then reduce the frequency of watering to once or twice a month once established. Overwatering can lead to root rot and other fungal diseases.
