More Details

The Procumbens Juniper, scientifically known as Juniperus procumbens, is a distinct evergreen groundcover treasured for its sprawling branches and vibrant green foliage. Adaptable and resilient, this juniper forms dense mats that are ideal for suppressing weeds and stabilizing soils. In the right conditions, the Procumbens Juniper can thrive in varied climates, serving as a versatile and attractive selection for gardeners wanting to bring a touch of evergreen charm to their outdoor spaces.

Growth rate: Moderate growth rate. Reaches a mature height of 1 foot and a mature width of 6-8 feet

Please note: Images on our website depict plants and trees at full maturity to showcase their expected grown characteristics. These images are illustrative examples only and do not represent the size of plants or trees upon delivery.

Pruning: Trim as needed to shape or control spread. Often used in bonsai for its beautiful structure.

Fertilization: Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring.

Winter Protection: Generally hardy but might benefit from light mulching in extreme cold zones.

Select a spot with good sunlight and well-draining soil. Dig a hole approximately twice as wide and of equal depth as the juniper's root ball. Position the plant, making sure the top of the root ball is even with the soil line. Backfill the hole, packing the soil snugly around the roots. Provide ample water right after planting, and subsequently, only occasional watering is necessary, mainly during extended dry phases.

It thrives best in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Watering needs are minimal after the establishment, requiring sporadic hydration during prolonged droughts.
