More Details

The Orange Frost Satsuma Tree, scientifically known as Citrus unshiu, is a delightful addition to any garden or landscape. This cold-hardy citrus tree is renowned for its sweet and seedless Satsuma oranges, which boast a vibrant orange color and a rich, juicy flavor. With proper care, the Orange Frost Satsuma thrives in a variety of climates, offering a bountiful harvest of fruit typically in late fall to early winter. It's an excellent choice for gardeners aiming to bring a touch of vibrant color and fresh, home-grown citrus flavor to their outdoor space.

Growth rate: Moderate growth rate; mature height of 8-10 feet and similar width.

Sizing: Our fruit and citrus trees are primarily utilized as outdoor patio or indoor plants and are potted. Accordingly, we measure our fruit and citrus trees from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree for accuracy.

Please note: Images on our website depict plants and trees at full maturity to showcase their expected grown characteristics. These images are illustrative examples only and do not represent the size of plants or trees upon delivery.

Pruning: Minimal pruning is required; just shape as needed and remove any dead or diseased branches.

Fertilization: Fertilize with a citrus-specific fertilizer during the growing season for optimal growth and fruit production.

Winter Protection: In cooler zones, provide frost protection during cold snaps. Container planting can be beneficial for moving the tree indoors in extreme cold.

Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and of the same depth. Place the tree in the hole, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly. Plant at the same depth it was in its container. Mulching helps retain moisture. Water regularly, especially during dry periods.

Orange Frost Satsuma Trees need full sun and consistent watering to thrive. The soil should be kept moist but not soggy, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Ample sunlight is essential for the health of the tree and the development of sweet, juicy fruit.
