The dense, soft foliage of this Arborvitae variety ensures year-round interest, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enhance their outdoor spaces with enduring beauty.

Growth rate: Moderate growth rate, reaching a mature height and width of 2-3 feet.

Pruning: The naturally rounded form of the Mr. Bowling Ball Arborvitae requires minimal pruning. If desired, light pruning can be done in early spring to maintain its shape or remove any damaged branches.

Fertilization: Apply a slow-release granular fertilizer in early spring, ensuring it's designed for evergreen shrubs. This will provide the nutrients needed for healthy growth and lush foliage.

Winter Protection: Although hardy, in extremely cold regions, it may benefit from a light mulch layer around its base to protect its roots. In windy areas, consider shielding it from harsh winter winds.

Select a location that offers well-draining soil and receives ample sunlight. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and as deep. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the ground surface. Backfill with soil, gently compacting as you go. Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and deter weeds.

This Arborvitae variety thrives in full sun to partial shade, soaking up at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight each day. For watering, ensure the soil remains moist but well-draining, especially during its initial growth phase. Once established, its drought-tolerant nature comes into play, necessitating deep watering only during extended dry periods.
