Celebrated for its brilliant papaya colored trumpet-shaped flowers, this plant not only brings vibrant color but also attracts various pollinators such as hummingbirds and bees. With proper care, the Kalama™ Papaya Tecoma thrives in a multitude of climates and boasts an extended blooming season, making it an exceptional choice for gardeners aiming to add exotic allure to their outdoor spaces.

Growth rate: Moderate to fast growth rate; matures to a height of 4-6 feet and a width of 3-4 feet.

Pruning: Lightly prune to maintain shape and remove spent blooms. This encourages new growth and a more extended flowering season.

Fertilization: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to encourage flowering and robust growth.

Winter Protection: In colder zones, bring potted plants indoors before the first frost or provide frost blankets for outdoor plants.

Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball. Amend the soil with organic matter for better drainage and fertility if necessary. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same soil level as in its original container. Backfill with the amended soil and gently press down to eliminate air pockets. Water the plant thoroughly right after planting.

The Kalama™ Papaya Tecoma thrives best in full sun and requires deep, weekly watering during its initial growing season. Once established, its drought-tolerant nature allows for less frequent watering, making it an excellent option for water-wise gardens.
