Pruning: Minimal pruning is required; however, any shaping should be done in late winter to early spring to encourage new growth.

Fertilization: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring to support healthy growth.

Winter Protection: In colder zones, consider wrapping the tree with burlap or adding mulch at the base for added winter protection.

Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Prepare the planting area by adding organic matter for improved soil texture and fertility. Dig a hole twice the width and the same depth as the root ball. Gently place the tree in the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the ground. Fill in the hole with soil, pressing down firmly to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting to help establish the root system. Optional: Add mulch around the base to help retain moisture.

Horstmann Blue Atlas Cedar thrives in full sun and prefers consistently moist soil. Regular watering is particularly important during dry seasons to keep the tree healthy.
